Description

Job purpose

This position will provide 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has outstanding results for our clients for over 14 years. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Time Dental Assistant to join our team. To work closely with a team of dental professionals, including dentists and hygienists, to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Duties and responsibilities

  • Contracted Dental Assistant must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
  • Experience + Dental Radiology = 6 months experience as a dental assistant and has a dental radiology certificate or certification
  • Military Training Program + Dental Radiology = Completed a military dental assisting training program and has a dental radiology certificate or certification
  • Graduate of Dental Assisting Program = Graduated from a CODA accredited, one year dental assisting degree program that issues a dental assisting degree or certificate.
  • National Registration (RD) + Achieved and maintains dental assisting registration from any of the 50 United States or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Certification (CDA) = Achieved and maintains DANB certification.
  • State Licensure (LDA) = Maintains a current, unrestricted state dental assisting license from any of the 50 United States or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Qualifications

  • Licensure, Certification, or registration are preferred. It is a condition of this contract that all qualifying registrations, certifications, and/or licensures remain current during the life of this contract.
  • Must also possess current (BLS) Basic Life Support certification or certificate.
  • Must not have any work or health restrictions which interfere with the performance within the dental department.
  • Ability to provide dental assistant services with full consideration of the mental, emotional, physical, and cultural factors involved, such that he/she can relate constructively to patients from the native American Community.
  • Ability to work the patients, the public, and clinic staff.
  • Ability to provide highly competent direct patient care, patient education, infection control, equipment and supply maintenance, and chairside dental assisting services.
  • Ability to perform infection control, equipment maintenance, and inventory management services per hospital policy, protocols, or stand operating procedures.
  • Ability to comply with all IDS facility infection control and safety procedures, practices, and standards.
  • Ability to disinfect equipment, supplies, operatories, and other patient care areas, following manufacturer’s instructions for use.
  • Ability to follow all dental waterline protocols to keep dental waterlines clean.
  • Ability to transport instruments to and from sterilization area.
  • Ability to follow infection control protocols for inventory management and storage.
  • Ability to dispose of medical waste following standard operating procedures, protocols, and policies
  • Should participate in a continual process of quality of health care evaluation to assure the provision of quality service.
  • Should strive for excellence in providing dental services.
  • Ability to all applicable Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards during the performance of the contract.
  • Should respect and maintain the base rights of patients, to include but not limited to personal dignity.
  • Ability to maintain proper dental record information on beneficiaries for who treatment is provided, in accordance with the regulations.
  • Ability to prepare all dental record documentation to meet or exceed the established standards of the facility to include, but not limited to: timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signatures

Working conditions

Working conditions are within a normal office environment.

Physical requirements

Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing. Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
