Description
Job purpose

To provide direct CM support and guidance to Integrated Product Team, Program Management, Engineering, Cybersecurity, etc. from project start to completion at Vandenberg, Space Force Base.  Implement hardware (HW) and/or software (SW) Configuration and Data Management activities to meet program contractual requirements.


Duties and responsibilities

• Ensure that existing change management and change control processes are strictly enforced throughout the development life cycle. 
• Write and/or review all software and hardware change requests submitted for approval to ensure completeness and compliance to specific guidelines and industry best practices.  
• Analyze product design changes identified in drawings, SW and HW specifications, SW version descriptions and installation instructions, test plans and procedures, technical orders, etc., to determine the effect on the overall product’s baseline.  
• Lead and perform physical/functional audits, document findings, and develop and incorporate necessary corrective actions.  Train / mentor other analysts in the audit process.
• Implement controls for both hardware and software baselines - maintaining revision and version control over multiple baselines being worked and/or fielded simultaneously. 
• Provide support to Customer’s Configuration Control Board (CCB).
• Support the development, delivery, and customer review of program documentation/data deliverables and status accounting updates.
• Perform other duties related to providing configuration control for sustainment engineering.
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment: and perform work and resolve problems with limited supervision.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills; and strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail.

Qualifications


• BS/BA degree in Business Administration/Management or equivalent education and experience - preferred
• Five years (5) of experience in a Sustaining or Development Engineering environment
• Working knowledge of engineering documentation, product structures, and change request/order management in a Configuration and Data Management environment.
• Working knowledge with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, e.g., Windchill or equivalent – preferred.
• Working knowledge of materials, components, assemblies, computer, and peripheral hardware parts/pieces - preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, e.g., Word and Excel.
• Some extended standing, bending, and occasional travel to LTRS sites, e.g., VTRS, Pillar Point, WROCC, etc.
• The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project requirements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required


Working conditions


Working conditions may vary based on project and requirements. Typical working hours are from 6:55 am until 3:35 PM Monday through Friday but may extend into nights, weekends, and holidays. Temporary project offices will be provided on a case-by-case basis.


Physical requirements

Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing.  Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
