Job purpose

 

To provide assistance with Healthcare Division for 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over 13-years now. 8-koi is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to join our team supporting emergency shelter operations in Southwest Texas. Operations will provide temporary residential shelter care and other related services to migrant families, including housing, childcare, medical and mental health services, case management, legal services, recreation, religious services, and food services. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting similar Shelter Operations.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate closely with Program Management to support development and supervision of all clinical activities; ensure accepted medicine practice standards and credential/licensing requirements are met for all personnel.
  • Develops, implements, and revises policies and procedures of pre-hospital care.
  • Conducts system audits and clinical quality and patient safety programs. Develops, implements, and monitors management of patient care incidents of complaints and deviations from established guidelines and standards.
  • Support development and improvement efforts for policies and procedures for medical services.
  • Provide preventive health recommendations and policies.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must  have Public Trust Clearance or be able to obtain and maintain US Government (Public Trust or Secret Security Clearance).
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a full and unrestricted medical license and DEA license.
  • 10+ years of clinical and progressive physician leadership roles required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement suitability determination for holding a Public Trust position.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.
  • Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to providing excellent care.
  • Excellent professional manner and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Emergency Medicine.
  • Subspecialty Board Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medical Services.
  • Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly preferable.
  • Prior Shelter experience working with Migrant families and/or children

 

 

Working conditions

 

  • Working conditions are within a normal office environment.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including consecutive nights and weekends when necessary; shift work required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Physical requirements

 

Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing. Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
