Job purpose
To provide assistance so as to plan, execute and finalize projects according to the 8-koi’s strategic vision. As a member of the executive management team, she/he participates in institutional planning, policy development, priority setting and management decisions for 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over 12-years.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supports the business development and deployment of corporate initiatives to ensure the success of the organization.
- Day-to-day leadership and management of the business and Design/Engineering operations
- Development and execution of operational strategies and processes
- Inspire, attract, develop, and retain a team of high caliber employees and groom into future leaders
- Responsible for evaluating performance direct reports and providing on-going feedback and professional development plans for future growth.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge of Design/Engineering operations, along with external market practices to solve highly complex challenges.
- Responsible for the overall integration efforts within the Design/Engineering division and between corporate departments.
- Plan, direct, organize and evaluate the implementation of strategic operational plans that align with 8-koi goals to deliver high-quality, cost-effective Design/Engineering services with a positive margin.
- Ensure that the philosophy, goals and objectives remain consistent with the overall mission, values and strategic plan of 8-koi.
- Advise leaders regarding the market's community, financial, growth, people, risk, safety, quality and service matters.
- Must demonstrate skills in interpersonal relationships, Engineering staff relations, planning, development, project management, information management, reimbursement contract negotiation/understanding, proposal writing and marketing.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain US Government Clearance
- Requires a minimum of 10 years experience (15+ years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree) in Engineering field with public, private or non-profit sector organizations.
- Shall hold a Professional Engineer licenses registration in the State of Florida.
- Or able to receive one within 60 days of hire.

Working conditions
Working conditions are within a normal office environment.
Physical requirements
Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing. Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
