Description

Job purpose

To manage the Accounting support of 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over 25-years now.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform Accounting duties:
    • Provide full cycle accounting support and ensure accuracy and efficiency of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivables, payroll, and month-end financials.
    • Manage Accounts Payable – Review records of accounts, input entries into proper accounts and prepare payments
    • Accounts Receivable – Posting of deposits to PROCAS receipts journal
    • Manage Payroll – pay employees, fringes, and statutory expense
      • Process payroll and associated required financial entries including SCA entries, Garnishments, Payroll journal entries, Accounts Payable entries for taxes
    • Manage PTO accrual entry
    • Manage 401k calculations, upload, and matching entries to Employee Fiduciary
    • Process various disbursements
    • Banking, Cash Management, Bank Reconciliation, General Ledger for Reconciliation
    • Ensure all due invoices are received and deposited.
    • Project Status Reporting – Provides Ad hock analysis of various projects to ensure accuracy of hours and dollar amounts.
    • Examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy.
    • Monthly Status Reports
    • Schedule S updating, manage, and up-keep

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain US Government Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with full cycle general accounting; knowledge of processing receivables, payables, cash applications and payroll
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently, and have a sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively execute in a high demand environment
  • Must have excellent communication, phone etiquette, customer service and people skills, as well as be able to multitask and stay organized
  • Ability to effectively and succinctly communicate in writing and verbally
  • Ability to operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers
  • Experience in accounting systems such as PROCAS, QuickBooks, or similar software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to create reports, spreadsheets, and presentations, labels using these tools
  • Advanced understanding and use of Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, macros)

 

Working conditions

Working conditions are within a normal office environment.

 

Physical requirements

Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing. Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
