Description

Job purpose

To provide assistance with Quality Assurance at Vandenberg AFB, CA for 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over 13-years.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct routine quality management system audits to assure conformance with contractual and company requirements. Preparation for audits include a comprehensive analysis and understanding of compliance requirements from various sources to include Department of Defense, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Aerospace Standards, Air Force, Government Technical Orders, and with internal procedures.  Areas to inspect include both technical work centers (Ex. operations, maintenance, project management, software engineering, information/systems security and sustaining engineering) and administrative work centers (Ex. business operations, finance, contracts, human resources, environmental health & safety, etc.).  Performing audits include audit preparation, execution, report development, non-conformance tracking, and follow-up/closure activities that meet schedule demands.
  • Participate in departmental tasking to include developing project planning estimates, establish, and verify quality control principles are followed, and develop project quality metrics to assure conformance with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare for and participate in Design Test & Evaluations, pre-NOR, and NOR walk downs.
  • Perform special audits or inspections on request, targeting areas of particular interest.
  • Issue, verify, monitor, and validate effectiveness of corrective and prepare preventive action (CA/PA) plans.
  • Routinely monitor and inspect equipment and facilities and audit processes to determine that conditions are in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Perform quality control functions to include site inspections, configuration control walk downs, review of workmanship standards, facility and habitability reviews, and brief management on findings.
  • Identify and exercise judgment in identifying attributes or situations which may lead to a future risk, noncompliance, or safety and environmental impact to the contract.
  • Solid conflict management skills
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with ability to communicate/present results to management
  • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Computer Science field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) or more years’ relevant quality-related experience
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Standard AS9100 or ISO9000
  • Experience/Proficient with MS Office Suite applications
  • Ability to work in industrial/administration spaces, often in remote environments where hazards are present that requires specialized training (fall protection, energized equipment, forklift operation, etc.)
  • Occasional local travel is required.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

Working conditions

Working conditions are within a normal office environment.

Physical requirements

Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing.  Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
