Job purpose
To provide facilities support services for Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC), Naval Station Mayport, Florida. SERMC is a tenant command occupying BLDG 1488 (approximately 189,000 square feet), BLDG 191 warehouse space (approximately 38,000 sq ft), BLDG 1886 (approximately 7600 square feet). BLDG 2150 & 2151 SARBOC buildings (approximately 1,800 sq ft) and the four (4) Relocatable buildings (totaling approximately 10,000 sq ft). Facilities support services include troubleshooting, submitting trouble reports, overseeing repairs and testing, and logistical support for SERMC’s nine (9) listed facilities.
Duties and responsibilities
* Serve as SERMC central point of contact for Facilities Support Services.
• Serve as the building maintenance manager assessing tasks based on complexity.
• Typical tasking performed may include painting, sheetrock repairs, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing problems, masonry
issues, adjusting door locks/ hinges, hanging wall mounted TV’s, ventilation and air conditioning repair/ troubleshooting.
• Prepare transportation reports for SERMC vehicle maintenance records.
• Communicate with Navy Facilities Command (NAVFAC) and Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) as required on status of facilities projects and maintenance concerns.
• Participate in facilities’ periodic zone inspections, provide input, track deficiencies, and update SERMC SharePoint Facilities website.
• Attend and participate in teleconferences, local forums and meetings with other Commands.
• Provide physical and electronic formats of all documents and reports produced to Code 1100 Services Division Manager.
• Monitor SERMC SharePoint Facility Services requests page and submit Service calls to the Regional call center for contracted services.
• Assist the SERMC Accountable Property Officer in tasks relating to inventory, upkeep of property records cards, processing of survey reports and turn in of property to the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO) stockpile points.
• As required, develop draft facilities’ scopes of work and cost estimates, forward to NAVFAC for further action.
Qualifications
• Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of facilities related experience in construction or building maintenance.
• Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in all phases of facilities’ maintenance to include general knowledge in the areas of Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical.
• Must possess excellent oral communication skills and capability of facilitating and leading group discussions.
• Must possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Programs.
• Must be able to develop scopes of work and associated cost estimates utilizing various associated commercially available cost estimating tools.
Working conditions
- Each workday will consist of eight (8) straight hours from 0700 – 1530, Monday through Friday.
- Lunch breaks shall be taken between the hours of 1100-1300.
- In the event of an unforeseen circumstance which necessitates the shutdown of the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (hurricane, pandemic, etc.) telework is NOT authorized for contractor personnel.
