Description

Job purpose

To provide Net Developer Principal services for 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over 14-years now.
The Net Developer serves as member of the Software Development Team responsible for developing and maintaining web-based applications in support of Space exploration enterprise mission partners at the Eastern Test Range.

Duties and responsibilities

• Implement best practices and design patterns using development standards provided by the team’s Senior Principal Developers
• Write enterprise-level code and maintain highly complex applications to ensure applications are efficient, maintainable, and sustainable
• Assist Project Managers, Systems Analysts, Customers, and other Application Developers in requirements gathering, analysis, design, and project planning for software application development
• Accomplish highly complex modifications, testing, troubleshooting and debugging tasks to maintain functionality while utilizing advanced problem-solving skills daily
• Provide training, guidance, and clear expectations for less experienced software development team members
• Review Air Force STIGs, Group Policies, and NOTAMS to ensure compliance and perform patching/upgrades as required
• Perform code reviews, test plan reviews, and documentation reviews
• Write enterprise-level code for applications
• Research and implement new features and optimize existing functionality in applications based on business rules and requirements
• Develop and implement web parts and customization of SharePoint Sites leveraging Visual Studio and .NET technologies to include non-standard functionality
• Review and edit program and user documentation to ensure highest level of quality and usability is achieved
• Develop, review, and maintain software project plans, requirements and design documents, test plans, and other system documentation as required
• Develop, review, and maintain work procedures and instructions



Qualifications

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience; Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively manage competing demands, prioritize appropriately, and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills that will be essential to the candidate's ability to contribute effectively in a teaming environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively within a dynamic, diverse, and team-oriented environment.
• Due to the turbulent nature of priorities in supporting customers, this role requires high adaptability to changing demands, deadlines, and priorities 
• Ability to meet new challenges with an open mind and optimistic response.

Additional Eligibility Requirements
• Occasional adjusted work hours (nights, weekends, holidays) to meet important product delivery deadlines and to support launches 
• Occasional local travel may be required  
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. Naturalization
• Valid U.S. driver’s license


Required Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience developing software applications with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Current DoD 8570 certification (CISSP) or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of employment
• Significant recent experience working with the following: 
• C#
• Visual Studio 2019+ or Visual Studio Code
• ASP.NET Core + MVC
• Entity Framework Core
• SignalR
• TFS and/or Git
• SQL Server 2016+ (T-SQL, Stored procedures and functions)
• Code Refactoring
• SCRUM or other Agile methodologies/principles
• HTML5/JavaScript/JQuery
• IOC Containers 

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming in an n-tier architecture
• Experience with the following considered a plus: 
- SharePoint 2013/2016
- Service Oriented Architecture
- Telerik Controls
- Maximo
- Air Force STIGs, Group Policies, and NOTAMS





Working conditions


Working conditions may vary based on project and requirements.  Monday through Friday but may extend into nights, weekends and holidays. Temporary project offices will be provided on a case-by-case basis.

Physical requirements

Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing.  Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
